What to do, what to do...

Had this nice little pot and didn't quite know what to do with it... so today at lunch I tried something a bit different with the carving.  Don't know if it quite works or not,  I'll let it stare at me for a day or so and see how I like it.  What do you think??

  1. I really like this little pot. I like carving, it gives the glaze so much to do!

  2. I think the carving looks good and goes well with the style of the pot with those feet you've used.

  3. Thanks for the encouraging words! I haven't really done anything like this carving before, so it looked a little strange to me. I may have to try some more of this... just to say that I have. Who knows, maybe it will take my work in a new direction for the future.

  4. I really like it. I think it has a very masculine tropical feel. Very nice. I hope you will let us see it after glaze fired.

  5. I especially like the look of carving on burnished earthenware. The man I apprenticed with years ago, David Greenbaum, is an absolute master at this process. Look forward to following your blog.
