Getting ready for glazing...

Spent most of Saturday cleaning the new shelves and posts, prepping them for kiln wash.

Mixed the epk, glomax, alumina hydrate, and Darvan, and painted all the shelves. This morning, I came in to find the kiln wash had crackled like crazy, and most of it would fall off when I turned each shelf over! Sooooo... I scraped it all off and washed the shelves again. Now I'm powdering the wash to mix it up, and try to paint them again!

Something new

Got in about 30 minutes on the wheel before classes started this morning. Left them out on the shelf - directly across from the air conditioner, and they were ready to trim and decorate in about 2 hrs. I've used this tool before -

Just not quite like today.
I like the lines on this trio...

Another load of Bisque! ( only two loads left!)

Another packed load, this one with a bunch of students stamps...

Bottom shelf - a plethora of pinch pots!

Center shelf with stamps...

Top shelf-larger and more of shaped, just not very tall...

Just couldn't get these three in, no matter what I shuffled around.

Bisque 2

Propped the lid open a half inch at 360 degrees. Started unloading at 150, as I wanted to load again today, but I had it so tightly packed that it just wasn't cooling off very fast.
This was the first two shelves

The third shelf,

And the bottom shelf packed with stamps as well.

First load of bisque is out!

Pulled out the first bisque load today! Only lost one piece to a crack on a corner, unfortunately, this one's already paid for. Oh well, make another tomorrow! Here's what I pulled out...

The second load was loaded by noon, emptying most of my shelves from last year...

I guess I packed it pretty well...
