Just a quick post during a break. Last night I stopped by the post office and there it was... the Grant Award Letter! I can't wait to start spending! Then I get home and the phone rings... it's my ceramics prof. from Univ. of Guam. He asks: "So when are you going to come pick up this wheel?" So I drive to the other side of the island and pick up my "new" used Pacifica 400 wheel! I started it up today and the remaining 2 bands snapped! Can I use a multi-grooved automotive belt of the same size???? Someone please let me know! I've got to throw something soon, or I'll go crazy!
I'll post pics of both later....
Yaaahhhooooooo!
what a happy dance you must be doing!
ReplyDeleteYou have no idea! But now I have to find a place that will let me buy a kiln with payments. They changed the disbursement rules on the grant this year. They will only give me monthly payments of equal amounts. (with proper receipts)
ReplyDeleteFantastic! You have wonderful students.

I have two of the Pacifica 400 wheels but don't know if a different kind of belt would work or not. I had to replace the belts on my older one and they were a different size than the belts on the newer one. I got frustrated trying to find them locally, and finally just called Laguna and ordered them.
ReplyDeleteGood luck.
Fantastic news! Hope your students all got their papers handed in on time. The one I dealt with was ever so polite and enthusiastic.
ReplyDeletebest wishes,
Hannah
